- Size does matter
Do not get caught up with all the excitement of extravagant dinners on the beach or holiday barbeques, and keep in mind that portion size does matter! It’s okay to splurge every once in a while but remember, everything in moderation!
- Juice it up!
Take advantage of all the fruit that this sunny season brings and snack up on a healthy juice! Mix up some pineapple slices, mangos, kale, and oranges for the perfect 6 to 8 ounce summer refreshment.
- Make gardening a hobby
There is nothing better than being able to walk out your front door and get fresh produce from your own garden. Growing fruits and vegetables on your own might sound like a lot of work, but it will give you a reason to get off the couch and spend some time outside!
- WATER, WATER, WATER
Make sure to drink your water! This is the most important thing to staying healthy and hydrated over the summer. Add some fresh cucumbers or strawberries to your water for some flavor.
- Experiment with the grill
Using your grill over the summer is essential. Take advantage of the nice weather and cook outside. Try grilling some shrimp, pineapple, and pepper kabobs or some caramelized chicken. Your taste buds will thank you.
Summer only lasts for four months out of our year, so make sure you spend those four months cooling off in the blue ocean and backyard pools! Swimming is one of the best exercises for your bodies so make sure you make the most out of the warm weather.
- Protect your food
Beach days call for filling coolers with food and beverages to enjoy on a hot, sunny day. However, make sure all the food is kept cool with long lasting icepacks in order to keep the temperatures controlled. Food borne illnesses can creep up on you; fight them off by safeguarding your meals.
- Release the stress
Summer is a time for relaxation. Stress puts a huge toll on your physical and mental health. What better way to release some stress than laying on a beach all day or doing summer activities, like having a picnic or playing sports. Not only will it bring you closer to your loved ones, it will make you forget about all the winter blues!
